Handcrafted original aircraft skin from a BOEING B747-400.

Boeing 747-412 MSN 24065 was first delivered to Singapore Airlines (SIA) as 9V-SME in December 1989. It was the 761st Boeing 747 (and the 45th Boeing 747-400 series) ever built.

The airline spent four months evaluating the General Electric GE CF6-80C2B, Rolls-Royce RB211-524 and Pratt & Whitney PW4056 engines before deciding on the PW4056 turbofans for its Boeing 747-400s.

This Boeing 747 spent its first 15 years flying for SIA and was then transferred to Iberia as TF-AMB for a 2-year period. In July 2006, Oasis Hong Kong Airlines acquired the airliner as B-LFB for another 2-year period. It then spent a year in the Victorville aircraft boneyard before joining Lion Air from Indonesia in April 2009. In its final years it shifted between Lion Air and Flynas from Saudi Arabia, and it was finally retired in 2017 as Lion Air PK-LHG.

It was stored for 3 years and finally scrapped at CGK (Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta International Airport) in 2020. Together with Aviation Art Indonesia, we were able to upcycle some fuselage skin containing the ‘BOEING 747-400’ title and part of the registration number from this jumbo jet. During production we realised that a layer of red paint, presumably from Oasis Hong Kong Airlines, was hidden underneath the Lion Air paint, giving us a special chance to offer tags with red engraving. Let’s welcome Boeing 747-400 PK-LHG to the Airlinertags fleet!
